Chardavin first drafted out a list of basic food provisions and supplies that his family and community continually need to buy. Approximate costs in Kenyan Shillings are shown (*which change depending on availabilty etc). At the foot of the list, I've made conversions to both NZ dollars and US dollars to help understand the extent of the appeal for donations.
Maize 2500ksh per sack,
Rice 3000ksh per 25kgs sack,
Sugar 5000ksh per sack,
Beans 4500ksh per sack,
Salt 1000ksh per dozen,
Tea leaves 2000ksh per sack,
Milk 1500ksh per box of 24 pieces,

Conversion (25 February 2021): NZ$100 = 8,000 ksh / US$100 = 10,900 ksh
Items in list above (excluding cooking oil, blankets and soap) = 26,000 ksh = US$240 / NZ$325
Plus:
10 blankets @ 1500 ksh each = 15,000 ksh
10 litres cooking oil @ 300 ksh/ litre = 3,000 ksh
5 boxes of soap @ 750 ksh per box = 3,750 ksh
Total = 22,000 ksh extra = US$200 / NZ$275
PROVISIONS TOTAL = US$440 / NZ$600
